Callistemon

Bottlebrush plants (Callistemon) get their name from the spikes of flowers that bloom at the ends of the stems, bearing a strong resemblance to a bottle brush. I've always just known them as bottlebrush plants and I've just read that they should be moved to a protected area during the winter months as they prefer a mild climate.  Luckily mine can't read, and seem to have survived - and thrived - with very little care or protection.
