The start of the holidays....

I got Adam and his friends up early this morning to get to Gatwick for their flight to Magaluf. A last big breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast as they will get there late this afternoon and I expect will be very hungry. They are staying at a hotel on an all inclusive package so at least I don't have to worry about them finding meals.

Then off to Waitrose (to replace all those eggs!) and on the way home I stopped to get this photo. The river banks are full of beautiful wild flowers at the moment.

Luke was exhausted this morning, he worked 6 days last week and clocked up nearly 60 hours. Gavin came home from work feeling ill with a bad cold and a temperature, and Thomas is bored...so we are ready for a holiday! We usually go the Swiss Alps every summer but the older boys find it a little too quiet in the summer, and as we have done that for the past 10 years they were keen for something different. So almost a year ago we booked to go to the west coast of the USA, and we are going in the last week of July. However, Thomas misses Switzerland and the mountains so Gavin is driving Thomas and I out there on Thursday, he will return to work and Thomas and I will spend just over a week there on our own.
