Ruth Mountain from Hannegan Pass

We went on a beautiful hike in the North Cascades yesterday with Spencer's brother and father (and the dog) called Hannegan Pass. Spencer has a couple of days off before his new job begins and he is doing a solo backpacking trip, so we did the first part of the trip together. This point was 4 miles in and we stopped for lunch. Then Spencer went on another four miles to Egg Lake by himself. He will be finished hiking on Tuesday and his father will pick him up in the morning. It was a beautiful hike, but hot and so, so buggy. By the end of the day it wasn't very enjoyable. I hope Spencer got up high and the bugs weren't too bad for him!
