Day with Nanny

I had to get up at 6 a.m. in order to be at my son and his partner's house to babysit my little grand-daughter.  It was a really hot day and I decided to take her to Claremont, a National Trust property in Esher.
The day did take a turn for the worse when the birds swooped down and stole our lunch.  The little face crumpled and she decided that we needed to go home immediately.  However, I made joke out of it and I also told her to stand tall and tell the birds very firmly to go away.  It was amazing how she grew in confidence when she saw that they did, in fact listen to her and we spent the rest of our time there practising being "strong girls".  First lesson from her feminist nanny. However, I am not having that much of an influence, not that I would want to, as seen by the above picture.  She does love her doll!
