A Final Backward Look
A final picture in a 'birds at the feeder' series. It is not the last of the wide variety of birds that feed here but it is time I tried something else.
The tuis are my favourites in the garden. Big, brilliantly coloured with a beautiful song, they provide me with endless entertainment. Today there were eight tui up to a bit of argy-bargy in the garden. Definitely in pairs and flirting like mad they romped from tree to tree, splashed in the bird bath and serenaded their lady love. Their wings make a distinctive whirr in flight and today you entered the deck at your peril. It seems early to have this sort of shenanigans for spring.
I have included more as extras - serenading the girlfriend plus a silhouette.
