Daft Raft Race

We finally had our Jubilee Celebrations today with out Daft raft race ( held up because there was so much going on last weekend )

I got blips of all 7 rafts but Grenville - aka Mike our postmaster and village shopkeeper - was my favourite. His raft won the Magnum of Champagen for the Most Imginative raft. Unfortunately he lost out in completing the race '

His chain broke and when he was fixing it the safety boat which you can see in the blip came along to help out. The boat accidentally upended his raft and then had to tow him to the finish line. Grenville wants next year's race to be relocated in a fresh water loch because all the seaweed clogged up his chain and paddles.

A great fun day with the usual BBQ at the Village Hall. All this from a wee village which thinks a great day out is also a Duck derby where we race yellow plastic ducks down the river.
