125 YEARS OLD TODAY

 This is the 'sledge' at the Underfall Yard which is let out into the Docks - a boat needing work to its below-water-parts positions itself over the sledge and is tied to the three posts on the left.  A donkey  engine winches the sledge back up the slope and as the keel starts to leave the water wedges are placed against the hull to keep it upright.     Scroll down on the link here to the wiki entry   More Underfall information here
