Birthday Girl

My Mother-In-Law is 75 today.  This is her enjoying herself being surrounded by gifts, cards & family. She was in good form this morning, which is rare due to her Parkinson’s and she seemed determined not to let it spoil her day. We chatted over tea, coffee & scones.  This was interrupted by a thunderous noise from nextdoor, to which Paddy said “That’ll be Chris’s new Harley, Simon. Why don’t you pop over and take some photos?” This seemed like a good idea since Ann was about to try out some new clothes (!)

So I spent a good ten minutes in the sun with Chris’s pride ‘n’ joy while I clicked away. Learnt some interesting facts about Harley Davidsons and motor bikes (something I know very little about and have never rode one). One of these facts included the belt drive. It was quite ironic for Chris to say that it is “quieter and more efficient” than a chain given the tremendously noisy arrival! His other neighbour joined in over the fence, but swiftly turned away in fear of spending too much money himself! The bike can be seen here and was impressed with the attention to detail HD is well known for.
Chris popped over to wish (fully, smartly dressed) Ann a happy birthday and chatted some more.  It turned out Chris and his wife went to Delamere Forest last night to see Paloma Faith. As did Mrs Tuttle, Doreen and Julie. So spoke about all the bands that we’ve seen over the years.

This delayed our visit to Chester (searching for a new fridge) in our favour as parking is free after 3:00pm. However, we arrived with half hour to spare so I hung around the car in the carpark while Mrs Tuttle popped into Abakahn for some fabrics. I took some pics in Infrared as the sun shone, but was kind of limited view-wise as I desperately tried to avoid the Ticket Master. If you are into car parking photos then click here.

Mrs Tuttle sorted(ish) out her sunglasses in Boots, while I ordered my safety specs, normal glasses & shades in Specsavers. As Tuttle Jnr is still cub camping, we hit HMV like old times then forgot about the fridge, as you do. Funnily enough we didn’t purchase any vinyl cos between us we owned most of the classics HMV had on their shelves. Felt a bit gutted, but smug at the same time cos the ones we own are mostly originals and cost less than a tenner each. And they still play nicely!

We bought a curry on the way back for 3 (for 5 really) and celebrated the rest of Ann’s birthday. Sadly we had didn’t have time for birthday cake as she was a bit worn out (Tuttle Jnr is due back tomorrow so it would suit the occasion better then).
