It Does Matter!

This car with the Fremont Brewing markings was parked outside Elizabeth Station on Sunday during a fundraising beer festival for Re Sources, a local nonprofit organization.

Punningly called "Yes We Can*”, the event featured beer and cider from over 40 local brewers — all sold in cans. Cans have many environmental advantages compared to glass bottles. I recognize the advantages and am happy to buy canned beer, but I do prefer the look of a glass bottle.

One block of the street adjacent to ES was closed to traffic for the festival. There were circus performances, games for the whole family, delicious street food, and live music by the Polecat & Wild Rabbit groups.

The beer selection was not inspiring. Although I anticipated that (nobody is canning the more exotic brews yet), I went because I wanted to support Re Sources and knew I’d see some friends there.
