Although we have been back  home in the UK for 18 months , my memories of the States and all the people we met and all the places we visited are never far from my thoughts , so I put the flag out in the garden today and then made a very fine soupe au pistou which isn't American at all but very French , ho hum we'll have burgers tomorrow !
