Thunder Clouds
Late last night I watched the England Women play Germany in the World Cup third place play-off and they deserved their 1-0 win. They were unlucky not to get in the final. Lets hope the mens team show such passion.
After a late breakfast, we set off up the local Machen Mountain, to show our friend, Julia, the stunning views and scenery. Her husband, Steve, is a retired teacher and tour guide who loves adventure. He's gone on his own to Kyrgyzstan. No luxury there.
As we neared the top of the mountain we could see storm clouds heading our way. Just before the lightning I took the blip photo which shows the dark foreboding clouds over the Bristol Channel. Then the heavens opened and it absolutely belted down and didn't stop until we were almost home. A clap of thunder and lightning frightened the wife. We just had to keep moving.
On listening to the news, two people in separate parts of the Brecon Beacons were struck and killed by lightening.
Mrs BB wanted to stand next to a sheep as she reckoned they were never hit by lightning! I can't say I've seen on the news of a sheep being struck so couldn't argue with a womans logic.
Back home, my camera and lens were separated and put in the airing cupboard to dry out. The dye from the leather strap had run into my white T-shirt which is now in the bin. I'd had it years and was rather attached to it.
