First of many

I have 3 large pots of these lilies in my garden and this is the first flower to open. For the past month I've been checking them every few days for lily beetles and picking them off when I find them. When I first saw these creatures a few years ago I mistook them for a new type of friendly ladybird but soon realised their destructive potential when my lily buds were eaten and black slime appeared all over the stems - ugh! I've beaten the bug***s again this year!
