Family fun day in Humshaugh

The church decided not to have a fete this year, but the school organised a Family Fun day today. There were the usual stalls: cakes, jams, books, tombola, raffle, etc and then other activities for the children. 

Here is the tug of war with the girls about to beat the boys. The boys had not worked out how to pull in a straight line, so did not make the best use of their strength.

The extra picture is another typical English pursuit, with a teacher in the stocks.

I returned at 4pm to photographt the wheelbarrow race but it was cancelled owing to only 2 barrows being entered!

In other news, I have been working all day on the walks' details for the Autumn Walking Festival. It always takes longer than I expect!
