"The rigorous alternate route"

We walked 6k to our breakfast this morning and were shocked to see groups of active people out and about. This just does not happen normally on a Sunday in Spain. It Turns out that there was a trail marathon taking place. Men and women dashed by us on the camino at high speeds along the beautiful coastline. We ended up on the "rigorous route" that sent us up and down steep pitches. At one point the path was broken and we were forced to walk back several kilometers and find a different route.
