Walk to the Pennine Way
S and M left after breakfast. We drove to Hethpool car park in the College Valley to meet some others in the walking group. It was a great day for a walk - warm but with a cooling breeze. Our route today was a steep climb up Great Hetha then out over the hills to where the Pennine Way converges with St Cuthbert's Way, not far from Kirk Yetholm. We ate our lunch on the border with this view towards the Eildon Hills near Melrose, where last Sunday we were scattering Mr C's Mum's ashes.
On the way back we met another group and were surprised to recognise one of the members who was a woman we had done the Annapurna Sanctuary with in 2008. We had not seen each other since so we had a quick chat before she had to hurry to catch up with her companions.
Now I have to get organised and make a contribution to the pooled supper tonight.
