House for an Art Lover

We decided to pop over to the House for an Art Lover today to have a look round and grab some lunch in the cafe. Not the best spontaneous suggestion ever as the house was closed for a wedding and the cafe turned out to be more of a restaurant and was booked so no tables were available.

We did have a 5 minute walk round the outside where I took this blip. Although I did like the gardens and the building I did not love the art in the gardens. Generally speaking I like a lot of modern art, but I wasn't taken with what had been placed in the gardens here.

The House for an Art Lover is actually quite a recent addition to Glasgow's buildings and was built in 1996 using drawings that Charles Rennie Mackintosh had sketched for a competition almost a century earlier in 1901.
