Black bird

Early taxi run to the airport this morning to pick up D on her return from Christchurch. I left especially early thinking I would check out the Manukau Harbour for some bird life, but hardly anything to be seen, let alone photograph. The tide was very low, maybe too low? The general scene looked somewhat uninviting with a wide expanse of mudflats that had an air of toxic pollution - probably not that bad but it just looked that way (see extra). In the end I settled for a shot of a large blackbird, the 787 Dreamliner with it's distinctive upward curve of the wing as it came in to land (not D's flight, this one was from Tokyo).
