Syd

Syd, who is about 18 months old, is a very enthusiastic dog.  Being so young, he can outrun our other two dogs who are over 7 years old now.  Syd loves rounding up the cows, and is a fantastic heading dog.  Here, taken this morning feeding out, he is wanting some extra attention from son C, who was on the Gator. 

My extra photo is C and Farmerboy putting up the electric fence tapes in our crop of Oats.  It's a truly amazing crop this year, up to Farmerboy's chest in some places.  We always put up two electric tapes, side by side, as this prevents our greedy cows from breaking through and eating the oats that they are not meant to have.

It was starting to rain when we were out on the farm, and certainly turned cold while we were in the oat paddock.  It feels like it must be snowing somewhere not too far away. 

While Farmerboy and C went and milked our 1 cow, I came home, got the fire roaring and made some cheese scones for morning tea.  With all our chores done on the farm for the day, its a chance to have a bit of a rest this afternoon, especially with the cold wet weather that is outside.
