Giant Swallowtail
This is the first swallowtail I have seen this year (Papilio cresphontes). I took loads of pictures trying to get one with its wigs out, but the only one I got wasn't terrbly good. These butterflies are masters of fluttering/hovering. This one is on the liatris in the garden (Kansas gayfeather).
My extra shot is cows in the mist this morning.
I am glad you all enjoyed the chickadees. They are great little birds with very characteristic calls. They are here year round and a common visitor to feeders.
I hope everyone is enjoying a happy and safe 4th.
