A Blipping Marvellous Day!!!

What a toptastic day!!!

It was the Great Manchester Swim today and I was booked in on the 11am wave. I arrived early and met up with JanetH...I had persuaded her to join me in the delights of Salford Quays. We had our own official photographers and team support group in Kath, Chrissie and Sian and they walked the whole course with us...thank you ladies so much for being there, I really appreciated it.

I haven't actually been in any water since the beginning of the year so I was a tad nervous this morning. As Janet and I queued up to enter the water to acclimatise before the race began it all became very real...eek! The water temperature was 18.5 degrees and didn't actually feel too bad at all....especially as the sun was shining.

After a quick warm up the hooter sounded and we were off. Janet and I dived in and that was the last I saw of her until the end. We were all in yellow hats and everyone looked the same. I have to say I loved every minute of it. It is such a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

The A Team followed us round and have taken some fabulous photos. Although, when I looked at the pics tonight I was completely flabbergasted when I saw that I had worn my wetsuit inside out !!!! What a complete numpty...and no-one pointed it out to me. Oh well...you know I like to be different ha ha ha.

I had wobbly legs at the finish and one of the officials asked me how I felt, "I feel bloody marvellous," was my reply as I wobbled towards the A Team. What an utterly brilliant day...I am on a high :)

In my age & gender group I was 70th
In my age group I was 169th
In my gender group I was 678th

My time was 00:53:33......and I am very pleased with that!!
