storm damage

We lost a big branch off one of the really old apple trees in last night's storm. We found it this morning leaning on top of the greenhouse - don't know how it escaped being crushed. It must have cracked off the main trunk and very slowly fallen down. It took most of the morning to ensure the weight of the branch was steady whilst we carefully trimmed all the smaller branches - all full of little apples - away from the greenhouse. And Mr I has spent all afternoon sawing up and moving all the wood. He's resting now with a large gin and tonic.
