Greenfinch

Another bird that has been introduced into New Zealand. Since including wild bird seed in the food I put out for the birds I am getting a wider variety of small feathered visitors.

The greenfinch has the nastiest nature I have found so far in the small birds that visit. They are not prepared to share the goodies with anyone and lunge open beaked at any other bird that dares hover too close. I would love to capture some of the action but there is not enough light where I am feeding them to have a fast enough shutter speed.

The extra is another greenfinch who looks like he has decided life is not worth living and is about to end it all.
