Helensburgh -of Charles Rennie Mackintosh fame

Over to Helensburgh  on the west coast of Scotland for the  weekend to look at some gardens tomorrow.
We are staying overnight in a B/B.
This coastal town has known better days.
 
There are some grand old houses up on the hill  (we are in one of them) with  Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hillhouse being the most spectacular but down in the town it’s a sad, tired place.
 
   
We ate in what seemed to be the only eatery in the place PJ’s Kitchen, a friendly unpretentious family run business that offered excellent home cooking.
