Another brick in the wall
I really didn't set out to blip another wall - the third in three days - but sometimes life hands you a whole bunch of unphotogenic days and at least this wall tells a story.
The day started early, on a train to Yo-ville, where the ticket collector told me I was a dead ringer for Patsy Palmer, Bianca from Eastenders. Jamie and I have been bickering for days about my new 'do' (you say ginger, I say auburn, you say carrot, I say strawberry blonde) and I have to admit Patsy c2015 was not really the lookeelikee I wanted to lookee like. (I was actually hoping for Honor Blackman c1964.) Back to Blonde for me this summer, I think.
So I finished term yesterday and started my other job at Jamie's company today. We met the designers who will hopefully make our vision a reality. They asked lots of questions; including 'if your company was an animal, what animal would it be?' Apparently the previous, very famous, company had emphatically insisted their company was a tortoise named George. Ours is more family pet, maybe a Labradoodle or Cockerpoo - loyal, lovable and always pleased to see you. We couldn't discuss answers but it turned out that Jamie and I had written down exactly the same animal and qualities. I don't know what that tells you really. Except we both want a dog.
Home after a long day, a lot of talking, and a round trip of 300 miles, to our dog substitutes - the children, (except Sal who's gone on an impromptu camping trip) and a bottle of wine to celebrate a HUGE week and the start of the summer hols.
The neon sign was on the wall of the design company. It rang true.
