Full Moon Rising Pender Island
Today is “Canada Day” and we have left Ganges Harbor and arrived in Port Browning on Pender Island, BC, Canada. It was an amazing day picture wise...too many photo opportunities and so hard to pick a blip.
It started with a beautiful motor over to Port Browning where we saw eagles and harbor seals. When we arrived in Port Browning we headed for the Pub’s outside deck for lunch. Then we heard “bagpipe music” in the bay and wondered where it was.
Later while out on a dinghy ride we realized it was coming from the sailboat anchored near us...what a lovely serenade! The folks aboard and in the bay were enjoying it too.
We also found a beautiful duck which I have yet to identify? which was perched on a 1/2 submerged log at sunset...it was so beautiful in the light.
Then the full moon rose just after sunset and seriously was so beautiful...I was scrambling to figure out how to photograph it, and was pleasantly surprised to get accurate representations of how simply stunning it was. It is almost impossible to get a bright moon and the darker landscape at the same time without combining two shots. And the colors of pink and blue were just amazing. So it’s my pick for the day! Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians!!
