White unbellifer
After the excitement of yesterday's damselfly getting to the Popular front page (thank you), today's is just a simple flower blip taken beside my closest barley field. And because it's one of the many white umbellifers, I'm afraid I can't tell you its name. I've scoured my wildflower book and come up with all sorts of unsuitable answers, but the truth is I just don't know. Best guess is common hogweed (as opposed to the giant stuff). Perhaps someone could tell me?
It was supposed to rain heavily today. We only had 3 drops (I counted them :)). Instead it was grey and close, but finally the sun broke through late afternoon and now it's glorious! Which is good because my (bathroom) shower broke today and my new power smart meter stopped working and I have people for the weekend to get ready for. Winchester's annual Hat Fair begins tomorrow and the town is already filling with performers and street artists. (The name of the event has nothing to do with hats, except that you are supposed to put money in their hat to pay for the entertainment). It's one of the highlights of Winchester's year.
Okay, that's enough blather from me. Enjoy your evening and talk later xx
