Christ Church Greyfriars

Walked through this public garden on my way to lunch with an old friend. The building started as a monastic church in the 13th century, was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666, was rebuilt to designs by Sir Christopher Wren and then bombed to ruins in the Second World War. Now a moment of green and calm amid the City bustle.
