The Chancellerie at Chenenceau
It's hard to understand why the Chenonceaux (the village) ends with an 'x' and Chenonceau (the Chateau) doesn't. I expect it's down to the varies of french grammar or some such thing.
We spent much of the day viewing the different aspects of it and eating and drinking under the sunshades outside the restaurant. It's been very hot again so these things are necessary. The hotel we're staying at seems to be used by one of the 'cycling for softies' type holidays so there are lots of healthy people staying here. I'm not sure I'd want to be cycling in this heat even if it is a relatively leisurely 35 - 40 km each day. The thermometer in the pool says it is 28 degrees but it felt quite chilly compared to the outside temperature, for the first few seconds anyway.
We move off tomorrow and continue our journey to Bargemon in Provence. It's a good day's drive so it'll be good to get there and chill off in Pip and Bruno's new pool.
My blip is of the rowing boats in front of the Chancellerie at Chenonceau. My extra is a classic view of the chateau from Catherine's garden.
