Poor poppies

Very windy and rainy all through the night. Had to close our bedroom window in the early hours as the noise of the trees and the banging fences was keeping us awake.

Whenever these lovely oriental poppies are in bloom they always seem to be battered by wind and rain. It would be nice to have a year when we get to appreciate their huge petals, amazing bright red colour and intricate structure before they get blown to bits or washed out.

Busy day at work and little opportunity for a walk at lunchtime. Two day weeks are nice but there's lots to catch up on.
