A canoe with a view!

Derwent island and house are owned by the National Trust and, although the house is let out to tenants, it is open to the public a few times a year. Twice this has been cancelled because the water was too low to allow landing from a launch but today it was decided to adopt desperate measures. Visitors went over by pairs of canoes tied together. The person standing is one of the company which provided the canoes. I went to help.
