Bunya pine
Today's blip is of a Bunya Pine branch.
Native to Queensland and can be grown far south to mid NSW State.
These pines can grow to some 40+m tall and bear nuts the size of a football. These nuts can be eaten raw or roasted over hot coals which is commonly used as traditional food in Aboriginal ceremonies.
We hope to collect a harvest in ?years. It took 3-4 months to germinate and over a year to grown a descent root system, WIKIPE can confirm.
