Evening Primrose

As the sun set, I stood beside this array of Evening Primroses and watched these night flowers open up.  It was amazing to watch a tightly coiled new flower pop open over a period of about 30 seconds.  Within fifteen  minutes the plants were full of wide yellow blooms arranged just above the closed, dead flowers from the previous night.  An incredible natural event  - right in my back yard.
