Sports Day

A lovely hot day was promised on the weather forecast last night – it was hot, hot, hot, but very cloudy and muggy.  We have had spots of rain but nothing to write home about.

Sports day today, so I took the afternoon off and managed to get there just in time for the start of the event.  BB was happy, as he won the flat race – he wasn’t bothered so much about the others - egg and spoon, sack and obstacle races – but still got two seconds and a third  for them.  He was most put out that he wasn’t in his house relay team, as he was the fastest in the heats.  A girl got the place and he was not happy,  as she wasn’t the fastest and the same thing happened last year.  The injustice of it all.

Even with his win under his belt, he wasn’t very happy when we left school as a (wobbly) tooth had come out today, and he had gone and lost it.  Disaster.  He has written a letter to the tooth fairy to tell her.  I hope she remembers to come.

We did a couple of chores in town, including registering him for the summer book challenge at the library, before picking up one of his friends who came back for play and tea.

The temperature has dropped quite a bit – and I have had to put a cardi on.

My sports day shots are not great, but if chair moving was a sport maybe they would all get gold medals!
