Circling the Golden Palace
Wide Angle Wednesday: Architecture
We are not short of great architecture in this part of the world - Bristol has some interesting buildings and Bath is on our doorstep and chock full of fine architectural heritage.
However, this is a shot of the new Civic Centre development in nearby Keynsham. The site houses offices for the local council as well as the library, a performance hall, various retail outlets and a restaurant/bar. The locals have already nicknamed it the Golden Palace. I suspect that it will not wear well, but it provided a good blip opportunity this warm and humid evening.
Its a little sad here tonight, Jess is off back to St Petersburg to take up her intern post at the Hermitage so we won't have a young person around to liven up our lives for a few months.
I shall have to start behaving disgracefully instead ....
Thanks go again to JDO for kindly agreeing to host the challenge this week - she's been a very busy lady on the challenge front recent.
...And while I remember, here's a plug for Youoregon1's Abstract Thursday challenge. I shall be having a go, feel free to join in too if it floats your boat. There's a link to his page with more information here.
