A WI afternoon out
With some trepidation I agreed to give a lift to some members of my local WI , on this the hotest day of the year , to a regional event in the grounds of Lullingstone Castle to celebrate 100 years of the WI in the UK. Every WI had to make a scarecrow. This is my village's entry.
There was of course lots of tea, even more cake and seats in the shade of trees. I came back with lots of jam , as you would expect, including a chilli marmalade which makes a great glaze for BBQ chicken I am told.
