Esthwaite Water

(this blip from Sunday seems to have disappeared - so here it is again ).

Trying to remember what I wrote .....

I have never been to Esthwaite Water and that's because I always thought it was 'private' with no public access.  

We found a cafe with coffee and toasted teacakes by the lake and people were fishing and messing about in boats in a very quiet corner - it was beautiful and relaxing.

Fairfield and all its associated peaks were visible to the north and over the lake if you wait long enough (and we did) there are Osprey visiting.  We saw a single bird which stayed quite high and failed to fish :-(  but it did return three time in all before we gave up. ( a couple of record shots  but nothing worth blipping).

I did get a nice photo of a female Mandarin duck which I said i would add as an extra so I will
