Henry Bacon
Henry Bacon built this house. That is what it says on the plaque at the front. He was a Worsted Merchant who became Sheriff in 1548 and mayor of Norwich in 1557 and 1566.
I didn't get a lot of time at lunch today to wander, but this is situated 'over the water' and I initially was taken with the side of the building. Bits bricked up; tiny windows of an unusual shape. On my way back to work (a bit later than I should have been) I saw it from the front. I don't know who resides here now, but I'd love to go inside!
I had a good day, and didn't leave until 5. I could have stayed later if it wasn't for the fact that I'd be home so late. My car was unbearably hot when I got to it at 5.30, & opening the 2 back windows made no difference at all. I must take some water with me, as I really noticed by the time I got home how dehydrating it was.
Henry cut the grass while I did tea. We sorted through some playmobil to sell then watched a programme about OCD clean people, cleaning a very dirty house. It made us feel quite normal.
I've just managed to Skype Jon again. We still don't have much to say to each other but at least I can see his smiling face!!!
Now to bed.
