Nor'Wester Over the Winterslows, near Montalto

Late this afternoon I decided to go for a drive to the other side of the Rangitata once more, driving inland opposite Peel Forest towards Montalto.

On my way towards the hills, I stopped to capture this archetypal Mid-Canterbury scene; a gravel road with a speeding ute, blue skies, snow-clad mountains, golden paddocks, all under the frame of the Nor'West arch.
