Stirling Tollbooth

This is the category A listed Tollbooth which faces on to Broad Street in the heart of the Old Town of Stirling. Built in 1704 and extended several times over the years, its fine "Dutch Pavilion" style roof is one of only a few still surviving inScotland. The Tollbooth has served in the past as a jail and courthouse but today it is a small concert venue and arts centre.
This was taken on a murky June evening - hence the mono - and I also like the stepped gables framing the tower.
