We got back at eight last night after an OK flight and drive back round the M25. Slight hiccup at check-in at Edinburgh where we discovered we were booked on a flight in a month's time. BA were prevailed upon to change the tickets with no charge. Phew. What with the car at Heathrow and all.

The garden seems bone dry. The potato blight had wiped out everything. Spent the afternoon gathering in a meagre harvest. Such a shame. But we won't starve. Will try more considered seed potato selection for blight resistance next year and better hygiene with self seeders and infected haulms.
