Apres le deluge!

What a day!  It was the first day we had opened our garden for the Scottish Open Gardens, this year raising money in Orkney for the Neuro Ward at  Royal Infirmary.  Woke at 6 to hear the rain pounding on the windows and the showers continued all day!
Folk started turning up at 11am and regardless of the weather, continued to appear until 6pm!  There were five gardens open in the village and we have nearly 200 folk trooping through!  A great success and lots of very lovely, kind and complimentary things were said and photos taken.  Even saw a couple of blippers!
This was taken from upstairs, after everyone had left and the sun finally decided to come out!!!  Typical!
Mike continues to be hooked up to all his machines and his every vital sign monitored but he is cheery and having a good rest. He had a lovely visit from our dear friend in Fife, who took him a selection of books, so he's quite content!  He's first reserve on the list for tomorrow, so things should start happening soon.  Thanks for everyone's good wishes, blip is a great place at time like this!
