Lazy Sunday

The Hampshire countryside doesn’t get much more tranquil than this setting on the River Dun, one of the tributaries of the renowned trout fishing River Test.
Holbury Mill is now a private house and is one of two surviving mills in the village of Lockerley, just north of Romsey. Though neither are working mills.
Like the Test, the River Dun is renowned for its trout, and Holbury Mill stands alongside four lakes, devoted to a trout fishery, and covering over seven acres of water, and fishing rights on both banks of the river.
They call it the best-kept secret in Hampshire, but those in the know, enjoy some of the finest trout fishing around.
According to village records there has been a mill at this spot for more than 1,000 years.

The Test Valley has many charming spots along the course of its river, but I doubt there are any as serene and soothing as this.
