Thurstaton Beach
We went to the beach today with Warrington Wildlife Watch. There were a lot of little (and some teeny tiny) crabs on the beach and the children had a good time trying to catch them and we also finally saw some sandworms, those ones that always leave their wormy looking casts all over the beach. They were interesting looking and very bristly to help them dig through the sand. There was an exotic animal expedition as well, which was unexpected. The kids and I got to touch/ hold an reticulated python and bearded dragons and for the first time ever we saw a tanuki (racoon dog), a very lovely canine.
