Summer skies in the Highlands
It was sunny and bright soo we thought we'd g for a quick drive before getting on with the DIY and Housework/gardening. The sea was so calm and reflecting the clouds so we had decided to go down to Redcastle but as we approached Avoch the sky ahead did nt look very promising but behind us was still bright so we took the road up to Killen and headed towards Cromarty. We were in sunshine and behind us this amazing sight unfolded with the sky getting darker and darker. we stopped the car and I jumped out and managed a few snaps before the heavens opened. Torrential rain then followed for the rest of our journey with no chance of even winding the window down without getting soaked.
We saw a pinemarten running along the road and then up into the bushes.
Back at home the sun is shining ,abit blowy and still a threat of rain but pleasant out and a temperature of 19 degrees.
