Faded Grandeur

Looking up at the faded grandeur of the house in which we are staying, it is easy to imagine this building in its hey day. Next to the river and with a large garden, it would have been one of a number of houses for wealthy traders. There are many smaller houses, some beautifully maintained with flowers tumbling out of the garden into the roadside.
