An Audience of Two
In a fit of enthusiasm at the fleeting promise of summer yesterday, His Lordship and I dusted our bikes down, pumped up the tyres ready for the first sortie of the year on wheels this morning.
From our hey day of 100 miles a week, we have been reduced to nil. Our excuse is the windy cold weather we have had this year and which to our ageing mindsets has seemed less than clement in which to venture forth on two wheels.
However yesterday's windless and balmy temperature lured us into thinking that we should ride forth today to practice for our forthcoming Orcadian holiday.
Our good intentions were scuppered when with Sod's Law predictability we opened the blinds at 8am to discover it windy and wet. Although it did become dry later, our window of opportunity had gone because of different assignations this afternoon.
And so it was an eat as much toast as you can in the café near the canal and a blip of one of the buskers operating with an audience of two in Middle Meadow Walk.
