Victorian Values

I took shelter from the drizzle in this rotunda in our beautiful old local park in Buninyong today. The rotunda was built as a celebration of some Queen Victoria event.
I am always amused by the quotation at the top 'The rich and poor meet together - The Lord is maker of them all', from Victorian days. It's a nice thought at first glance, but then it strikes me that there is a subtle message that I should keep my place and not reach above myself.
