Old Hippies

Why is it that in the 60s and 70s, people who loved to wear this stuff were hippies, but now those same people are old hippies.  After some discussion, we have decided that they are still just hippies. Some have joined the trend, however, who are young and don't fully understand what it means to be a hippie. These people are not called young hippies. They are hippie wannabees.  Therefore, there is no such thing as an old hippie.  There are only hippies and hippie wannabees.
