Take Pride

Meet William. He waited a good four hours in the sun right at the back of a 30,000 strong Pride parade today.

When I asked William's permission to take his picture, he was immediately obliging and let me know that he was on the Michael Barrymore show 20 years ago where he won £200 and a trip to Malta; he has been on TV a further eight times and was the self-styled guest of honour today.

It was a really great event today, a fabulous atmosphere, despite (or because of) various recent events. Tunisia never far from our minds, we also celebrated yesterday's wonderful news from the USA.

I was really chuffed to briefly catch up with the lovely lookseeclick who spotted me from atop a float with her eagle eyes as we headed down Baker Street to join B's colleagues on their organisation's open top bus. I've never been on a Pride float before - what you miss in being on the ground amongst it all is more than made up for by seeing the happy and smiling crowds from up there.
