Saturday fun
It's Saturday and it's June - and it's the summer edition of our Toddlers' Praise service at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church.
We hold these services four times a year: at Easter, in early summer, at Harvest-time and at Christmas. We invite the infants and children who have been baptised in the church over the past two years (and their parents!) and the service itself is a combination of songs, a prayer, a Bible Story and an activity, usually making a poster or banner or similar. There's tea or coffee or juice on hand, along with biscuits of course!
It's noisy and messy and even mayhem at times, and hard work, but also great fun. Our minister, who came up with the idea about 15 years ago, retires in September. I hope Toddlers' Praise will continue after she goes, but it won't quite be the same.
